GOATBERG

Look up or try and recall in your brain the last 15 to 20 years. Try and find me a professional wrestler other than the Undertaker, that has protected his character and legitimacy better than Goldberg. The most obvious argument or debate there has been about Goldberg, is the typical "he can't wrestle for more than 10 minutes!". Well that may be the case, but honestly what does that matter?

Bill Goldberg was the hottest thing wrestling may have ever seen in a short time frame. As I said, look back 15 or 20 years. When Goldberg was in his prime. Most people my age were probably still in elementary school. And to kids of that age, nothing was cooler than someone as big and strong as Goldberg completely destroying an entire WCW locker room (both heels and faces) literally piece by piece. The streak (the original streak), whether embellished or not, gave everyone a reason to watch. Even if they watched just to see when or if he would lose.

Goldberg in the WWE didn't work the first time and it's easy to use the excuses "he can't wrestle!", or "blame Vince!". But try and look at it from another angle. There have only been 5 people total in the history of professional wrestling that have ever pinned Goldberg, and literally no one has ever kicked out of the jackhammer. So really think about how important a guy like this is to wrestling. No matter what you think, the man is on an "Undertaker Level".

When he made his recent return to WWE at Survivor Series last year, he shocked the world by beating Brock Lesnar in only a minute and change. Regardless if you can admit if you were shocked or not is irrelevant. Saying you were not surprised by his quick win is a bold-faced lie. Now, Goldberg has the Universal Title which he snagged from Kevin Owens with a little help from a "stupid idiot". While the elephant in the room is the fact KO was basically just giving his title away for the sake of booking, it still doesn't take away from Goldberg being a current champion. Of course it would have been amazing to watch both Owens and Goldberg both get some offense in, but again we are talking about Goldberg here. The same man that will now be going against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania for said championship.

The wrestling world will absolutely be watching. Whether they are cheering or booing, the marquee sells itself. The last thing I will say is that other than Sting, there is no bigger WCW superstar than Goldberg. None. Sting had his WWE run all the while going into the Hall of Fame, and if you think for a second that there wasn't creative plans to put a title on Sting (giving WWE room to have an actual WWE related package), you're nuts. Goldberg is simply the greatest back up plan of all time, and is a sure fire future WWE Hall of Famer. Check the scoreboard.
